Last year we saw a number of provocative new trends in denim. From ankle-cut offs and embroidery to flares and high-waists, 2016 was an exciting year for jeans. But what does 2017 have in store for denim? We’ve got the trend forecast to keep you up-to-date on the latest styles:
Retro
The retro flare is here to stay in 2017. A universally flattering fit that gives even the slimmest of wearers the illusion of curves, the retro flare is the perfect addition to your closet. Whether in a distressed light wash or a classic blue, the flare is a versatile fit that can easily transition from winter to spring, making it a staple piece in any wardrobe.
Ripped Knee
A trend that was first introduced in 2016, the ripped knee jean has seen continued popularity into 2017. Unlike extremely distressed denim, ripped knee jeans have a certain level of subtle sexiness without overdoing it for everyday wear. The addition of a pair of fishnet tights underneath adds the perfect amount of allure and is a great way to keep the trend fresh.
Beads
2017 is the year for hems, whether that be beads or distressing. A unique look that’s sure to make a statement is beaded fringe, like in our Spring 2017 collection. The addition of the beads immediately dresses up a pair of simple black jeans and makes them perfect for a special night out.
Distressed Hem
Similar to beaded hems, distressing is putting hems in the spotlight in 2017. Whether that be a chic V-cut, which will be available in our Spring 2017 collection, or the fringe distressing worn by Alessandra Ambrosio at Paris Fashion Week, distressed hems are sure to be everywhere this year.
